Born and raised in the vibrant landscape of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jen Hasegawa embodies the spirit of a creative weirdo who has carved out her niche in Oakland, California. With 18 years of experience in the hair industry, Jen has established herself as a master hair stylist with a specialization in precision shortcuts, lived-in razor cuts, and naturally beautiful, lived-in hair colors. Her distinctive approach to hairstyling reflects both her artistic vision and her commitment to enhancing her clients' natural beauty. Jen's journey into the beauty industry began with her education at SFIEC, a Paul Mitchell school located in San Francisco. It was here that she honed her technical skills and developed her unique aesthetic. After completing her studies, she joined Solé Salon, an esteemed Aveda Salon in Emeryville, where she dedicated 16 years to perfecting her craft. From 2016 to 2023, she served as the salon's creative director, leading a team of talented stylists and cultivating an environment that celebrated creativity, innovation, and personal expression. In July 2023, Jen co-founded Hart and Sole, an R+Co salon, with her friend and business partner, Heather Hill. Her strong background in apparel merchandising from the University of Hawaii further contributes to her unique perspective in the beauty industry. When she's not behind the chair, Jen can often be spotted engaging with her creative community in Oakland.
